Promisek Ecology Excursion

  • Promisek 694 Skyline Ridge Road Bridgewater, CT, 06752 United States (map)

Students, Faculty, Staff, Parents and Families are invited to participate in a series of QOTA sponsored ecological seminars and work experiences at Promisek* located in Bridgewater, CT. These will be similar to the workshop we held last spring which focused invasive species and the 5-acres of meadow being restored at Promisek, a 300-acre parcel of mostly forested land at the confluence of the Housatonic an Shepaug Rivers. Promisek is an ideal place to experience the beauties of our Connecticut environment and the ecological challenges it is facing and to learn how we have a positive impact.

These experiences will take place on Saturdays throughout the year; we’re planning for them to be educational, hands-on, and recreational. Each day will include a presentation by an expert on an ecological topic (forest, meadow, stream and riverbank, stone walls, invasive species, pollinators, etc.), lunch, a hands-on work experience, a walk or a game and time for reflection.

We are looking at the following dates: November 5th, December 3rd, February 4th, March 4th, April 1st, and May 6th.  The days will begin at 9:00 and end by 3:00.

Come to any or all; each will be different as the seasons change.

For more information contact Joseph Moller (jmoller@qota-prep.org) who be leading these experiences or to sign up contact Tonya Brownell (adminasst@qota-prep.org).
